Data & science Where every number comes from Heat estimate: OpenStreetMap + live weather In v0 the heat map is an estimate. For each H3 hex we measure buildings, roads, green and water from OpenStreetMap, then add them to the live Open-Meteo air temperature. The Heat Score compares each hex with the median of your scan. It is not satellite data. www.openstreetmap.org/copyright The hottest quarter of hexes are grouped into connected zones and ranked by mean score. Zones within 3 points of each other are flagged as near-ties instead of being ranked. Air temperature: Open-Meteo Temperature, humidity and the 5-day forecast come from the Open-Meteo forecast. “Feels like” uses the NOAA heat index. Normals and the 20-year history come from the ERA5 archive via Open-Meteo. In Bangladesh, heat levels use BMD thresholds; they are not official warnings. open-meteo.com Air quality: Open-Meteo Air Quality PM2.5 comes from the Open-Meteo Air Quality model. We compute the AQI ourselves with the US EPA 2024 PM2.5 breakpoints. Sensors you add in v0 are simulated. open-meteo.com/en/docs/air-quality-api Each +1 % of tree canopy in a km² lowers daytime surface temperature by roughly 0.1–0.2 °C; cool roofs about 0.04 °C per 1 % of a km². Tree cooling ramps up as trees grow. Projections are ranges, never promises. Rules run on the Open-Meteo forecast plus NASA POWER 30-day rainfall, following BMD, BRRI and DAE guidance, e.g. heat ≥ 35 °C at rice flowering. Atmos X never gives pesticide doses. power.larc.nasa.gov OpenAI models write the “why is it hot” text, plan details (species, costs, steps), answer Ask Atmos, and check photos. Anything the AI fills in is marked “AI estimate”. Scores, cooling and AQI always come from fixed formulas. openai.com Your account, actions, photos, trees and teams live only on this device in v0. Other people, teams and leaderboards are a demo community, marked “Demo community”. Nursery locations come from OpenStreetMap plus a curated Dhaka list. Atmos X never sells plants. www.openstreetmap.org Credits & licences Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL Map tiles: OpenFreeMap Weather and air quality: Open-Meteo, CC BY 4.0 Climate archive: Copernicus ERA5 via Open-Meteo Rainfall: NASA POWER Optional land surface temperature overlay: NASA GIBS AI: OpenAI Photos: Unsplash (Zac Gudakov, Mahmud Ahsan, OWN FILTERS, Sehajpal Singh, Erwan Hesry, Kabiur Rahman Riyad) Fonts: Lemon/Milk, Poppins, Noto Sans Bengali, Noto Nastaliq Urdu Atmos X v0 · presentable MVP
